Yogendra Sethi, renowned painter and jewellery artist, celebrated the opening of his one-man show at the National Arts Club on March 10, 2009, where he displayed his paintings and his one-of-a-king jewellery collection. The opening event was graced by the presence of many prominent personalities from the art and jewellery worlds.

Sethi has been inspired by the aura of nature and has been seen with interpreting the bountiful colours of nature in the reflections of coloured gemstones. The theme of nature permeates Sethi’s talents as jewellery designer. He began his jewellery business career as a stone dealer and designer in 1976. Now, he is seen combining his artistic talent on canvas and a passion for gemstones in his signature jewellery collection. Employing natural fancy coloured diamonds, precious gemstones, and 18K white, yellow and pink gold, Sethi depicts the play of nature in his jewellery collection made of 12 unique jewels. “No one color is good or bad or liked or disliked. Life is a rainbow, the more color you infuse the more you enjoy it. What is imperative is how every subsequent effort transcends the other”, explained Sethi. His expertise with gems and diamonds allowed him to develop and master the unusual prismatic forms in his artwork. He combines the hardness of diamonds with his subtle exploits on the canvas, depicting the exhibits of nature. Throughout his more than 40 year career, Yogendra Sethi has been an avid evangelist of the evolution of artistic expression. His exhibition at the National Arts Club will run through March 23 2009.
