A new MD for Rio Tinto Diamonds

Will manage all of Rio Tinto's diamond mining operations

Rio Tinto welcomes Bruce Cox as its new Managing Director of Rio Tinto Diamonds. Mr. Cox will be based in London and will manage a portfolio involving all of Rio Tinto's diamond mining operations - the Argyle mine in Australia, the Diavik mine in Canada, the Murowa mine in Zimbabwe and the Bunder project in India - as well as the Antwerp based sales and marketing activities.

Mr. Cox commented on his new appointment, "I am excited to be moving back into Rio Tinto’s diamond business at this important stage in its growth and development. I am looking forward to working with my team to ensure Rio Tinto builds on its reputation as a long term, reliable participant in the diamond industry”. Mr. Cox holds over 28 years of experience in the resources industry having worked in Africa, North and South America and Australia across multiple product groups, including his role as General Manager Finance of Argyle Diamonds.
