She won the awards for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her role in Revolutionary Road and Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her role in The Reader.

Penelope Cruz chose to wear Chopard pear-shaped chandelier earrings of 10 carats and square-cut yellow diamond cocktail ring weighing 20 carats. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
