As reported in the media Gem Diamonds has a new stake holder in its portfolio, that being Laurence Graff, owner of jewelelry brand Graff Diamonds. Graff has bought 4.5 percent stake in the company for investment purpose and is reported to show no interest in a take over of the company.

The association between the two companies has been seen in the past, as Graff Diamonds seems to have bought diamonds from the mining company Gem Diamonds, with the most recent purchase being the 603-carat Lesotho Promise and the 493-carat Letseng Legacy diamonds mined at Gem Diamonds’ Letseng Mine in Lesotho.
