Pranda to strengthen foothold in India

diamond world news service

India might be the next manufacturing centre for Pranda Jewellery’s jewellery. The company at present has a retail tie-up with Mumbai based Gunjan Jewellers to sell its Thai-made jewellery in India.

Recently, the company launched its 24-karat gold jewellery product line in Tamil Nadu, a south Indian region, where gold jewellery is an indulgence. Future plans of the company’s Indian venture, is to retail its Cai range of silver jewellery.

Such interest comes at a time when free trade has been authorised between India and Thailand, which has further boosted the interest of this Thai-based company. The company has set a revenue target of Rs.3 billion ($70 million) by 2010.
