StanChart Botswana to finance local sightholder

AFNS reprts that Standard Chartered Bank Botswana will be lending financial assistance to a local DTC sightholder, Exelco Group, one of the 16 companies enlisted at the end of 2007. StanChart will be the first bank to extend such credit. It will support the sightholder in purchasing roughs from DTC Botswana and also finance the building of sightholder H&A Cutting Works cutting facility, owned by the Exelco Group. The Botswana DTC was created, as De Beers was pressurised to implemetn benefication to the country by moving its diamond operations to the country.
