Since then, the community is working towards the welfare of the society and also helping the diamond industry to expand and grow to its best in the world.

SDA's major mission is to promote the growth of the diamond industry and towards its sustainable future.

In the past, SDA has undertaken initiatives, such as:

* Conducting seminars and fairs for the awareness of new technology and economic trends.
* Reduction for Goods & Services Tax.
* Empower ID program to address labor-related issues to the SME sector.
* SDA has built a hospital and research center.
* SDA is regularly conducting education programs for the betterment of the local community.

On becoming the new chief of SDA Nanubhai Vekariya said, "The Covid19 has dampened the spirit of diamantaires reasonably. In my experience, such calamities come and go, and demand for diamonds comes back to normal. We need to keep some patience and perseverance and things will improve, markets across the world have started opening up and in India too they will open and demand will be restored to pre-Covid19 days.”

These are testing times for all industries and SDA will do its best for its members, as always, he assured.
