SRK donates around 55 tonnes of food materials to prevent shortage due to COVID-2019 outbreak

SRK Group came together with Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) to aid in the preparation of grocery kits for the less privileged in order to tackle food shortage due to the ongoing virus outbreak. The kits consisted of pulses, beans, vegetables, cooking oil, wheat flour, rice, etc.

Daily essential food items estimated 24,500 kgs of wheat flour, 12,500 kgs of rice, 1,800 kgs of sugar, 5,500 kgs of pulses, 7500 kgs of cooking oil, 2,000 kgs of beans and 1,500 kgs each of potatoes and onions were donated by SRK. The company also facilitated in supplying all these items to the homes of the needy people.

Apart from this, the company well-known for its contributions towards the society, also helped arrange meals for the 400-500 staff members of Surat Municipal Corporation. In addition, SRK Group aided in providing food packets to people across various cities in partnership with the Corporation.

“While the world sees a global financial crisis due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, even small contributions by corporates can help reduce the impact faced by lower-income groups. We are working on the same and looking forward to how we can extend our support to Government and SMC's efforts”, said a staff member of SRK.
