Vishnu Pillay wil take over the office of executive vice president and head of its South African operations at Gold Fields Ltd. He will occupy office beginning May 1 2008. Pillay has been associated with the company for 22 years and was previously the vice president and head of operations of the Driefontein gold mine. Pillay has also worked at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) as executive director. Pillay succeeds Terence Goodlace who is now the group chief operating officer and part of the company’s executive committee.
