The Diamond Producers Association (DPA) announces the appointment of Raluca Anghel as its Head of External Affairs and Industry Relations, effective 1st November 2019.  Raluca Anghel will be based in London and report into the DPA’s Chief Executive, Jean-Marc Lieberherr. She previously held positions with Microsoft Europe and more recently with the European Parliament.

The Head of External Affairs and Industry Relations is a new DPA position in charge of leading the development and implementation of the DPA’s external engagement strategy, in close collaboration with its Members.  In her position, Raluca will engage with main industry bodies to ensure alignment and leverage opportunities for collective industry action, including joint communication programs. Raluca will lead the DPA’s global public affairs agenda in important areas such as terminologies and nomenclature and she will take responsibility for the DPA’s industry programs, including the ASSURE Program.  Raluca will also lead the DPA’s communication activities in Europe.

Jean-Marc Lieberherr said: “There is a great need and opportunity for all major industry organisations to work closely together on progressing a joint agenda. Raluca’s collaborative style and strong communications background will make her an important asset not only to the DPA but to the industry as a whole. We are delighted to welcome Raluca to our team.”

Raluca Anghel said: “I am very honoured to be part of this unique industry that touches the lives of so many people at a global level. At the DPA, I look forward to working with key stakeholders such as leading diamond companies and international organisations in promoting the reputation and integrity of the diamond industry, as well as ensuring its long-term sustainability in times of profound social and economic changes.”
