Cecilia L. Gardner, Jewelers Vigilance Committee’s (JVC) president, CEO and general counsel and CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Special) will be making a presentation on the U.S. jewellery industry’s response to the government’s anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and JVC’s products which help jewellers effectively implement the AML programmes. She will be talking to AML officials from approximately 16 third world and developing nations and members of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), at The World Bank, Financial Market Integrity Group, on October 25.

Said Gardner: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to share the United State’s experience of AML compliance for dealers in precious metals, precious stones and jewels, with officials invited by The World Bank. The U.S. government has asked the jewellery industry to be awake to red flags that may indicate possible money-laundering activities.”
