‘Lumisense’, a colour grading instrument was recently launched by HRD Antwerp NV, the commercial subsidiary of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC). The instrument is based upon a research conducted to decipher the difference in human observation of colour and instrumental colour measurement.

It is hence apparently said to be very precise in its judgment of colour, according to HRD Antwerp's general manager Georges Brys. He said, “Lumisense delivers extremely accurate and consistent colour grades, and is particularly effective in the grading of brilliants in top colours, regardless of the diamond type or its level of fluorescence”.
