At International Diamond Laboratories (IDL), Dubai, Peter Borgmans has been recently appointed as Chief Quality Officer. He will serve as a link between the lab and its customers across the globe, as well as help influence consistency in the grading results, as is the IDL way to channel all discussions on grading results through a single Quality Officer to avoid any direct contact with or influence of the graders.

Borgmans mentioned that, “The scientific approach to diamond grading, combined with digital marketing solutions offers a new business model that adds value to the trade and I look forward to contributing further to that.”

Borgmans holds a record of work in grading, as HRD’s Quality Manager in its Certificates Department, and the Secretary of the International Diamond Council, a working group of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), where he helped standardise grading systems of all diamond laboratories.

“Peter’s expertise in the field of ISO standards and quality management supplements IDL’s strategy of consistent diamond grading,” said Peter Meeus, Chief Executive Officer of IDL.
