Making India proud, designers Priyanka Sharma and Hemant Baweja bagged away prizes in the fourth annual poster contest which was hosted by the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) during the group’s 12th biennial Congress in Dubai, May 5-9.

One hundred and ten posters from 22 countries were on display during the Congress, where participants and guests voted on their favorites, with the top three winners selected.

First prize (US$1,500) was bagged by Yekaterina Sverdlova, Russia. Second Prize (US$750) was taken away by Priyanka Sharma, India.
The third position (US$250)was also bagged by Prize Mr. Hemant Baweja, India.

According to Yehuda Kassif, poster contest founder and organizer, the concept behind this competition is to look for new and creative ideas to promote colored gemstones.

The contest also illustrates a global outlook on color no matter what language you speak, through emotion-packed visuals understood by all. “There are no borders and boundaries when it comes to the basic need of the human being to decorate himself,” says Kassif, who noted that ICA members Jacqueline Grande (USA), chairperson of the posters committee, Constantine Wild (Germany), and Rui Galopim de Carvalho (Portugal) were involved in the organization of the contest, and announced the winners at the ICA’s Gala dinner ending the Congress May 9.
