Sarine Technologies Launches Meteorite™ System for Inclusion Mapping of Smallest Stones Segment

diamond world news service

Sarine Technologies Ltd announced that the official launch of its new Meteorite™ system forinclusion mapping of very small roughstones, under0.35carats.

Based on the Meteor™ system, the MeteoriteTM is offered as the most cost-effective inclusion mapping solution currently available in the industry for the segment of very small rough diamonds below35 points in size. Rough stones of this size typically equate to polished diamonds less than ten points. In this lowest size segment, nine hundred million stones are polished annually. However, as their absolute value is minimal, only higher quality stones with a meaningful return will realistically be scanned (i.e., where higher Clarity grades are probable). Therefore, some fifty million rough stones are the likely market for the MeteoriteTM. In order to meaningfully penetrate this market segment, the cost of the scan, dictated by the machine's total cost of ownership, the possible throughput, and other associated expenses (i.e. labor, consumables, etc.), is critical. The Meteorite™ device will scan up to 10 stones per hour, aiming to scan nearly240 stones per day, assuming three daily shifts.

David Block, Chief Executive Officer of Sarine, stated, "The launch of the Meteorite™ system is another step in making Sarine's advanced inclusion mapping technology accessible to an even wider range of customers, as we believe it will be the most cost-effective system on the market. The proven Galaxy™ technology will now be offered in a system specifically targeted at very small goods and aggressively priced. We intend to continue to add value to our inclusion mapping product line with the launch of additional upgrades and innovations, some of which we plan to introduce later this year. "
