WDM launches Chinese language mirror site

diamond world news service

The World Diamond Mark Foundation (WDM) and the Shanghai Diamond Exchange (SDE), have worked together to launch a full-fledged Chinese language mirror site, reports suggest. With this, the website is now available in English, Russian and simplified Chinese.

The successful translation and adaptation was possible with the direct involvement of SDE President Lin (Frank) Qiang and SDE Vice President Caroline Yuan, reports add. The website can be accessed through the WDM home page.

WDM cites that the ‘Chinese diamond, gem and jewellery market is the undisputed rainmaker of our industry, and with the introduction of the Chinese-language mirror website we have significantly lowered the threshold for the Chinese B2B market to come and take part in the WDM's promotional efforts for diamonds and diamond jewellery." Alex Popov, WDM's Chairman and CEO, noted an anticipation to see more Chinese retail jewellers participating in the WDM Authorised Diamond Dealer programme. He viewed the SDE and its leadership to be very important to the expansion of WDM and success in the Chinese retail market, reports add. WDM looks to expand its endeavours of creating mirror websites in Arabic and Spanish.
