While trying to strike a deal, the two Chinese nationals had cleverly switched and replaced a diamond piece weighing 5.4 carats, approximately costing Rs. 34 lakhs, with a fake piece. Due to the swift action by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) led to the Chinese nationals’ arrest at Mumbai airport. The diamond, worth Rs. 34 lakh, was recovered from a bottle of shampoo.
