De Beers’ 4th sales cycle clocks provisional value of $520 million

Post De Beers' fourth sales cycle of rough diamonds of 2017 (Global Sightholder Sales and Auction Sales), Bruce Cleaver, CEO, De Beers Group, said, “We are continuing to see steady demand for rough diamonds, despite the industry entering a typically quieter season. Sentiment remains positive as we head towards the important Las Vegas trade show in early June.”

De Beers noted the provisional value of the rough diamond sales was $520 million. In the same period last year, the company clocked actual sales value of $636 million, while its actual sales in the third cycle were $586 million.
