PJSC ALROSA announced its rough and polished diamond sale results for December 2016 and interim results for 2016. During December 2016, ALROSA Group clocked rough diamond sales worth $173 million and polished diamond sales worth $3.3 million. Total diamond sales in December 2016 amounted to USD 176.3 million.

“Sales results in December in the small-size segment still reflect weakening of small and middle-size Indian diamond-cutting companies due to the monetary reform underway in this country. Activity in other market segments corresponded to the seasonality of demand and our expectations,” – says Yury Okoemov, ALROSA Vice President.

Preliminary figures indicate that for 12 months of 2016 ALROSA Group sold rough and polished diamonds for $4.486 billion, 26% higher compared to the similar period of 2015.
