Dubai Shopping Festival is a hit in its first week

The first week of the Dubai Shopping Festival has generated sales worth Dh240 million ($65 million) reports the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG), an association of jewellery retailers. A preference was noted for diamond jewellery as the prices of gold have been scaling heights, while the more Asian and Arab customers preferred gold jewellery.The festival has witnessed an increase in the participation. It is estimated that the festival will generate an increased sale of jewellery this year by 20% Y-o-Y to Dh1.2 billion ($326.75 million) as compared to last year.
