Signet earns low sales in Q4, but earns rise in entire fiscal

Signet Group plc has published its sales figures for the last fiscal. It has earned a decline in its sales figures during the forth quarter ending February 2008, affected by a dull Christmas sale in UK and the US recession during January. Whereas, its annual sales have shown a rise. For Q4, its total sales dipped by 6.1% to $1,384.8 million in Q4, as also its like for like sales dropping by 6.7%. In the US markets, sales lowered by 7.2% and in the UK by 3.3%.

As reported, Signet did notice a decline by 0.7% in its like for like sales for the entire fiscal ending February 2, 2008, but its total sales increased by 3.0% to $3,665.4 million.
Also, the US figures were better for the entire year as sales rose by 2% to $2,705.6 million, and in the UK it increased by 5.8% to amount to $959.8 million. The like for like sales in the US declined 1.7% while increased in UK by 2%.
