WDC to hold AGM in New York

Maurice Tempelsman to deliver a Keynote Address

The World Diamond Council (WDC) is slating its 12th Annual General Meeting in New York City, reports say. The meeting will take place at Waldorf Astoria Hotel between September 7-9, 2016 and hosted by U.S. Jewelry Council.

Key topics to be addressed at the meeting include the Kimberley Process (KP), implementing the WDC’s first-ever Strategic Plan, along with a more effective communication platform, reports say. The meeting will be attended by the WDC members and invitees.

Maurice Tempelsman, chairman of the board of Lazare Kaplan International Inc. will participate to deliver a Keynote Address on September 8, while talks will also be led by other leading speakers from the diamond industry and government, reports add.

The WDC Board of Directors will meet a day before the AGM and after the open session with the event closing with the the Executive Committee meeting.
