Organizers of the India International Jewellery Week (IIJW), India’s premier platform to showcase its jewellery design talent have shifted the schedule of the event to October this year. The event will unfold in its seventh edition in Mumbai, and unlike its previous editions which were held close to the IIJS shows in months of July/August, IIJW will take place close to the peak festive season. IIJW is organised by the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC), the apex body for the gem and jewellery industry in India.

The decision to further the schedule of the IIJW this year, followed feedback received from the past and prospective IIJW participants and the appropriate buying season, according to GJEPC. The final dates are yet to be announced.

IIJW showcases top of the line jewellery from India in terms of design, innovation, craftsmanship, technology and quality to a global audience, with the objective of establishing the Indian Gem & Jewellery Industry as the global jewellery hub. The 2015 edition of IIJW witnessed leading industry players such as Rio Tinto, GIA, Forevermark, PGI, and prominent retailers like Tanishq, Gitanjali, Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas, You Be Jewellery, Jewels by Preeti, and others along with eminent designers such as Varuna D. Jani, Anand Shah, Monica Kapur amongst others.
