KP Data shows rough trade grew 20% in 2005

Combined rough exports among 45 KP countries grew 20.2 to $38.41 billion in '05

The Working Group on Statistics for the Kimberley Process (KP) published data on rough diamond trade and production for the first
time. Combined rough exports among the 45 KP countries grew 20.2 percent to $38.41 billion in 2005.

Export prices rose to $74.71 per
carat in 2005 from $64.43/ct in 2004. Total imports rose 17.7 percent to $37.689 billion. KP countries produced 176.709 million carats
valued at $11.544 billion in 2005 as production value grew 12.9 percent from 2004.
