Botswana’s rough diamond exports in January value $222.5 million

Rough diamond exports from Botswana rose significantly in January's 2016, over December 2015, as per the Bank of Botswana data, reports say. The said exports in January 2016 valued $222.5 million. The figure indicates a significant increase over the entire final quarter of 2015 when the exports valued $114.1 million. Rough diamond exports in December 2015 valued $31.9 million.

The January 2016 exports indicate a drop in demand from the previous year wherein rough exports in Q1 valued $985.5 million, as per reports.
