Dharmanandan Diamonds Pvt Ltd in Surat has joined the Swasthya Ratna group mediclaim insurance scheme launched by the GJEPC, taking a policy that covers its massive workforce of 2,928 employees. This is the single largest policy issued under the Swasthya Ratna scheme to date.

The policy covers the employee as well as his family including spouse, children and parents.

Dayalbhai Goti, Director, Dharmanandan Diamonds said that the company was also planning to extend the benefit of this group mediclaim cover to all its employees in other units as well. He also praised the scheme floated by GJEPC and said that Dharmanandan would help to spread awareness about the importance and benefits of the group mediclaim policy to other diamond companies in Surat.

As reported earlier this month, the total number of workers in the industry who are directly covered under Swasthya Ratna has recently crossed the 10,000 mark. As more and more companies see the advantages of the new scheme and enrol their workforce under Swasthya Ratna in the coming months, the numbers are expected to swell further.
