Pandora plans to open about 200-300 new concept stores

In a major global expansion plan, Pandora Jewellery has announced opening of 300 concept stores every year from 2016 to 2018 to become a full jewellery brand. The Denmark-based company also revealed its plans to have majority of new stores to be in the Europe, followed by Americas and Asia Pacific. 

The above roadmap for the company was revealed by Anders Colding Friis, President & CEO at a presentation made during the Capital Markets Day held at Gemopolis, its manufacturing base in Thailand. It may be recalled that the jeweller already covers more than 90 countries on six continents through approximately 9,500 points of sale, including about 1,750 concept stores. 

In the statement, the company said that it has had significant growth in Asia, mainly the Far East, in recent years. Revenues in the region rose from HKD 183mn in 2012 to HKD 1,170 in the first nine months of 2015. The company also said that it aims to invest around DKK 1.8 billion in capital expenditure during 2015-2019 to double its present production capacity in Thailand
