In a glittering function at IIGJ, the graduating students of ninth batch were awarded with their diplomas in Jewellery Design and Manufacturing function at the D.Navinchandra Auditorium on the institute’s premises. Shishir Nevatia, Chairman, Sunjewels, was the chief guest, while IIGJ Directors Sanjay Kothari and Nirmal Kumar Barmecha were also present, along with Namita Pandya, Convener, IIGJ, Tardeo and senior faculty members of the institute.   

 It was Tanjul Sarkar, who received the Chairman’s Trophy for the Best Student, while Ganesh Santra was declared the runner-up. Both had displayed a consistent performance during the six semesters.   

 Sanjay Kothari, who spoke on the occasion, encouraged the students to take up jewellery as a career despite the slowdown in the industry, while Namita Pandya offered some sound guidance and advice to students who were embarking on a career as designers.  Shishir Nevatia shared his experience and knowledge, stressing that one must always be a student, ready to learn at every stage in life.
