Debut edition of South Africa Diamond Indaba 2015 unfolds

The South Africa Diamond Indaba 2015 unfolded on October 27th at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg. The inaugural event was hosted by the Minister of Mineral Resources, Mr Mosebenzi Joseph Zwane (MP), together with the State Diamond Trader (SDT), as per reports.

The theme of the Indaba was “Enabling South Africa to become the Heartbeat of Diamond Beneficiation in Africa”. Its focus was on support beneficiation, following the goals of the Department of Mineral Resources to uplift the country’s potential in mineral resource endowment and thereby create a competitive advantage for domestic mineral beneficiating entities, and contribute towards the country’s growth, as per reports.

The event was well attended by key decision makers of the diamond industry - producers, beneficiators, industry associations, government, jewellery manufacturers, and international participation of diamond stakeholders, reports add.
