Yeah, the trend is changing very fast! The generation Y, which is constantly on the move for one or the other reason, loves to rent from diamond jewellery to their everyday utensils.  In fact, to meet the demand from this growing tribe of urban youth a number of startups have come up online and they are having hell of a business.

For instance, in jewellery rental business the name of Eves24.com is foremost and they have been doing great business by lending their fine jewellery to customers. For instance, a well- to- do lady from Mumbai, who just did not want to splurge on an expensive diamond jewellery piece to attend her brother’s wedding, went for it and had a hell of time. And mind you, this was all just for five per cent of the cost of the jewellery.

Of course, the trend is also visible in other areas like furniture, utensils, kitchen appliances, gadgets to kids’ toys and costumes. In fact, companies like Furlenco, Rentongo, Rentomojo, Eves24, Klozee, Bagsutra, Carzonrent and Rentsher provide the option of renting stuff.  Of course, not all of them provide stuff themselves and some of them also act as middleman to their customers.
