The De Beers Group of Companies announced intentions of its Auction Sales business to conduct viewings of auction lots in November 2015 ahead of its December 2015 auction events. The viewing is planned to be held at the Special Notified Zone (SNZ) in Mumbai, India,

Under the current schedule, the full range of products to be offered for sale at the December auction will be available for inspection at the SNZ in the Bharat Diamond Bourse from 27th November.

Neil Ventura, Executive Vice President of Auction Sales, said: “The opening of the SNZ in Mumbai is a positive development for the Indian industry and the team look forward to hosting viewings of our auction lots in India for the first time. Offering these viewings at the SNZ creates a platform for serving existing and new customers with greater convenience in their local market enabling them to inspect the full spectrum of rough diamonds that we sell. Auction Sales products include rough diamonds that are suitable for the Forevermark programme and demand demonstrated for De Beers’ rough diamonds at Auction Sales continues to be taken into account by De Beers Global Sightholder Sales for the purpose of its Intention to Offer (ITO) allocation process.”

Businesses wishing to attend the viewings and participate in Auction Sales’ online events will first need to apply to become registered Auction Sales customers. The details are being detailed on the company website.
