Lucapa identifies confirmed kimberlite at Lulo

Lucapa Diamond Company announced having identified confirmed kimberlite (L259)at its Lulo project located in Angola, as per reports. The Kimberlite L259 as per the company ‘could be a primary source of the large alluvial diamonds being mined at Mining Block 8, which include rare D-colour Type IIa gems and fancy colours’, reports add.

Also, there has been a ‘significant expansion of the alluvial gravels at Mining Block 8, which has been a prolific source of large special diamonds (> 10.8 carats) and fancy colours and will remain the focus of future alluvial mining production operations at Lulo’, the company noted. For the company, the identification marks L259 as a compelling target, following its efforts to find primary source of kimberlite or sources of the exceptional alluvial diamonds at Lulo.
