The Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, the country’s only diamond producing state may soon have its own diamond park. As per reports, the state government is planning to establish a Diamond Park Project over 254 acres in the state’s commercial capital city of Indore. The project is planned under PPP (Public Private Partnership) mode, as per reports.

The project would be built at the Rangwasa village by Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam. IT would incorporate a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) over 134.2 acres and would house 95 industrial plots across the core area of 44.52 acres, apart from hotel, township, auditorium, hospital, school, training centre, administrative building and other facilities over the rest of the 53.33 acres of non-core area, reports add. Domestic industries are planned over 120.03 acres in which industrial plots are proposed to be built over 73.12 acres and parking, road, electricity, water, solid waste management and other facilities on the remaining 46.90 acres. Private developers would build and provide basic amenities of roads, water, electricity, streetlights, boundary wall, sewer network and such.

The project decision was taken up by the state Cabinet recently, reports say.
