Blood Donation Drive by Kiran Gems

Kiran Gems in association with Umang Foundation, Sir J.J. Mahanagar Raktapedhi, Red Cross and St. George's Hospital had organised a blood donation drive in support of humanity.

Kiran Gems, the world’s largest manufacturer of diamonds, successfully organised Blood Donation Drive on 11th July 2015 at its Mumbai Headquarters in Bharat Diamond Bourse. At the end of the drive, 1, 500 blood units were collected. Umang Foundation, Sir J.J. Mahanagar Raktapedhi, Red Cross and St. George's Hospital were the associate partners.

The blood donation drive, a social welfare initiative, was not restricted to Kiran employees alone – anyone with the will and ability to donate blood and save lives was welcome. Kiran’s employees and their families along with industry brokers, assorters and employees from other companies enthusiastically turned up in large numbers to support this noble cause. As always, Kiran’s top brass including Chairman - Vallabhbhai Patel, Managing Director – Mavji Patel and Directors – Dinesh Lakhani, Rajesh Lakhani and Kalpesh Patel, were active participants.

The diamantaire is no stranger to playing its part towards society. In the past it has been actively involved in supporting the causes of education, health & welfare and society in general. Vallabhbhai Patel, Kiran Group Chairman and also the driving force behind Kiran’s social initiatives said, “At Kiran, we take our social responsibility very seriously. Such events help us to create awareness among our employees and the industry. We are more than willing to undertake efforts that can help save lives. Also, participation in such events gives our employees conscientious satisfaction.”

Special care was taken to ensure that the blood collection process was conducted under expert supervision and hygienic conditions. All the donors were well taken care of by Kiran. This drive was just another display of the strength and unity of India’s Diamond Industry.
