diamond world news service

Following the incident of synthetic diamonds being found in Surat’s Varachha's Mini Bazaar, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has taken on the endeavour to educate and spread awareness amongst diamond traders, manufacturers and dealers, on the subject, reports say. With this in mind, the trade body has launched an awareness campaign to bring to light the way to identify, screen, test for synthetic diamonds and about the state-of-the-art synthetic diamond detection equipment, reports add.

The Council has announced many such awareness programmes within the industry, to bring attention and caution to the issue. Reports also note that the programme will be supported with inputs from experts who would educate on technical and practical knowledge.
