Malabar Gold plans 12 showrooms by 2008

Malabar Gold, a jewellery company from Bangalore, is planning to open 12 showrooms by 2008 in India and abroad, as mentioned by its Managing Director - O Asher. It has chalked out a Rs. 500 crore investment for the next two years.

On September 12, it would open its second retail outfit worth Rs 11 crore, in Karnataka at Jayanagar, with one showroom already existing in Mangalore. Another outlet is being planned for Bangalore.

The group’s jewellery division Malabar Crystals and Diamonds would set up showrooms in Kuwait, Bahrain and Muscat in the Gulf, and Northern India. A showroom is being planned for Kottayam, which would retail bridal collections with designs from Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal and international styles from Italy, Singapore and Bahrain.
