Seminar on synthetic diamonds unfolds in Varachha

diamond world news service

In the wake of the rising issue of natural diamonds and synthetic diamonds being mixed and the non-disclosure of the same, The Surat Diamond Association (SDA) and the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) organised a seminar directed at the diamond industry stakeholders, to inform them more about synthetic diamonds, including variety, identification and voluntary disclosure, reports say.

The seminar took place in Varachha and hosted Samir Joshi, executive director of Indian Diamond Institute (IDI) and Janak Mistry of Lexus Technologies, both presenting talks on the subject.

The seminar would enable those within the industry to understand and so differentiate various types of synthetic diamonds, in turn aid their diamond buying in a more informed manner.
