Saks achieves higher sales

Saks scaled to higher sales in July. Its sales turnover increased by 16.8 percent to $201.4 million in July, over last year’s July sales of $172.4 million. Sales in the second quarter whooped up by 15 percent to $687.9 million, over last year’s second quarter sales of $598.2

The comparable store sales of the second quarter increased by 13.2 percent, while in July, they were up by 14.9 percent. Also, on a Y-o-Y basis, for six months ending Aug 4, the owned sales were at $1, 473.5 million, an increase of 15 percent compared to $1274.6 million for the six months ending july 29 2006.

Fine jewellery, women’s contemporary gold range along with men’s apparels and accessories and designer sportswear, were the major selling product categories at Saks.
