Kiran Gems puts up its efforts towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Kiran Gems, a leading manufacturer of diamonds, undertook to be part of the national initiative Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, through an initiative of a cleanliness drive at Juhu beach, Mumbai on December 20th, 2014. Over 900 employees including the Group chairman Vallabhbhai Patel, Managing Director Shree Mavji Patel, Directors Dinesh Lakhani, Rajesh Lakhani and Varun Lakhani actually participated. The effort was supported by more than 90 industry patrons.

At the beach, from 8:15 am till 11:00 am, the company team undertook its endeavour in an organised fashion with 47 employees groups covering the whole stretch of the beach. The groups were provided with safety gears and other cleaning equipment. At the conclusion, six best performing groups were recognized with trophies, for the group performance. Also, 20 individual performances were also recognised.

As a gesture of motivation and to hand over the prizes, Ashish Shelar MLA from Bandra Vidhan Sabha and President Mumbai, from the ruling political party with government at the center, BJP and Ms. Alka Kerkar Mayor of Mumbai, were present as the chief guest of the events. Ashish Shelar said, "This was wonderful that a private company like Kiran Gems is coming forward and taking part in the initiative with such huge numbers of employees and it is commendable." Mavji Patel, MD- Kiran Gems Pvt Ltd said, "This is our country and we should care for it. Through this we have learnt two things- 1. We should practice cleanliness and 2. We should not litter. I appreciate every employee’s effort today and congratulate them for such a great accomplishment."
