WFDB presses for instant action to end overstated diamond certification

The World Federation of Diamond Bourses has recommended quick and decisive action to be taken against the overstated diamond certification, says reports.

As per the WFDB, there are certain laboratories, which are damaging the reputation of the entire diamond industry. It has requested the stakeholder to come together to eradicate the practice, which is a serious threat to the reliability of the diamond industry, adds a report.

Further, the report stated that it would be discussed at a meeting of major laboratories and had to be resolved to retain the consumer confidence that sustained the international diamond trade. The report also warned that deliberate cases of misrepresentation could amount to fraud.
