The 12th Kimberly Process plenary meeting concluded, welcoming Angola as the incoming chair for 2015, but also fell short in making a decision on a country to take on the role of 2015 KP vice chairmanship, and who automatically goes onto becoming chair for 2016, reports say. The meeting took place in Guangzhou, China.

United Arab Emirates and Australia, were contending for the role of vice chair.

As per the selection criteria decided by the plenary, the vice chair would be elected based on the consensus system, where all participants need to agree unanimously to the decision, reports add.
