World Jewelry Center now FTZ

The Las Vegas-based World Jewelry Center (WJC) has been declared as a Foreign trade Zone � Site 7 by the US Department of Commerce�s Foreign Trade Zones Board, and pertains to general-purpose zone warehousing and exhibition services.

Operations of the WJC will be handled by Nevada International Trade Corporation (NITCO) on its behalf, within the 61-acres of Union Park. The FTZ designation
The decision was announced by a group of prominent professionals including Somer Hollingsworth, president and chief executive of the Nevada Development Authority, Grantee of FTZ # 89, and President and CEO of NITCO - JoAnne Tornberg.

The FTZ status hopes to bring about duty deferral, paperwork reduction, and the elimination of duty on goods exported from the US, along with reduced global supply chain timeline to import and export.
