Tahitian Pearl Trophy preliminary round exhibition

57 designs from among 600 short listed from all over Indian Subcontinent

THE exhibition, Tahitian Pearl Trophy 2005-06 Indian Subcontinent, preliminary round was held at the Indian Institute of Jewellery in Mumbai on November 26, 2005. The preliminary judging took place on July 2, 2005, judged by well-known people in the industry like Mrs.Renu Kapoor of Indian Institute of jewellery, Saurabh Zaveri of Star Jewels, Manan Zaveru of K.G.Pearls, Preeti Khurani of GJEC Institute, Suraj Popley of Popley Gold Plaza.

57 designs in 10 categories from around 600 designs were short listed. The designers included young budding designers of reputed jewellers and exporting companies like Tanishq, Oysterbery, TBZ-The Original, Shrenuj & Co. The designs came from around Indian Subcontinent with an entry from Pakistan as well. Mumbai played a dominant role in the competition along with entries from Surat, Gurgaon, Delhi, Kolkata, Nashik, Panch Pakadi, Gandhinagar, Bhopal, Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad, Bhilwana, Noida, Punjab, Jalgaon, Moga, Udaipur, Bangalore, etc…

The final judging will take place at Indian Institute of Jewellery with final judges- Vijay Jatia, Chairman, Modern Mills & IIJ, Anu Ranjan, Director, Indian television Academy & Publisher of GR8 magazine, Maryada Sharma, Ex. Signity Head, India, Rajesh Jhaveri of Ocean Pearls, Priya Gokhale, Sajlendu Chatterji, Director, Jewel Trends, Sandra Merchant, Editor, Solitaire International. The award ceremony will take place at Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai on December 17, 2005. The winner in each category will be qualified to participate in international round in 2006.
