Petra Diamonds discovers 122.52 carat blue diamond

Petra Diamonds Limited announced another marked discover – of a 122.52 carat blue diamond at the Cullinan mine in South Africa.

The company acquired the Cullinan mine, known as the world's most important source of blue diamonds, in 2008. It has received exceptional results from the mine.

Further analysis of the blue diamond are yet to be made, to assess its potential value. After this, the company will evaluate its optimal route to market and does not expect to sell it before its current financial year ends on 30 June 2014.
