Good times Ahead
One of our industry’s biggest jewellery events concluded this week. There are some events this industry can’t do without and IIJS Signature is one of them. Strategically placed in the midst of the wedding season, this show sends out feelers, about what sells, how much sells and how the rest of the year is going to pan out. Though exhibitors weren’t completely optimistic about the show, they were still satisfied with the visitor turnout. The fact that India is a gold loving nation is proved once again – even though gold price hit the highest over the last few days, buyers were still enthused about buying gold jewellery. This is certainly amazing for the industry!

IIJS Signature is also very important for diamond jewellery, speaking of which, it’s been raining diamonds the past week – celebs as usual chose their favourite gemstone for both BAFTA and Grammy’s. Models were seen traipsing the ramp with jewels from Narayan Jewellers, a household name for diamond jewellery in India. 27 Indian retailers have collaborated with Forevermark India and have designed exquisite pieces in diamonds for the Academy Awards. It looks like the fascination for diamonds is not going anywhere, anytime soon!
