Future looks bright, somewhat
The marriage between Tiffany & Co and LVMH has been on the rocks for quite some time. In an unexpected turn of events, LVMH has decided to pull out from the deal and has also approached the Government of France for assistance.

One of the major reasons, according to LVMH, is Tiffany’s financial results in the first half of 2020, followed by certain decisions that didn’t really fly well with the company.

In other news, Belgium is seeing light at the end of the tunnel after it saw its first increase in polished diamond exports in over the last sixteen months. After the diamond industry in Antwerp like many other centers of diamonds came to a grinding halt beginning March, August which is otherwise known for subdued demand has increased.

Demand for large size, quality diamonds has been noteworthy. Speaking of which, a flawless 102 ct diamond could fetch up to $30 million in an upcoming auction at Sotheby’s.
