As India celebrated its 74th Independence Day, we are reminded of the fact that India has the world's longest history when it comes to diamonds. It was in India that diamonds were first found.

The early finds transformed India instantaneously into a diamond consuming market – where maharajas and other nobility wore the first ever jewellery items made of diamonds.

It is here that amidst this pandemic, we all feel the vibes of a newfound freedom as Indian gems and jewellery industry strives to regain business lost during the lockdown.

Across India, karigars from this industry are working ceaselessly to create designs, apt for the occasion, business and market scenarios. Exports are slated to increase infusing the industry with new profits. What started off as a small cottage industry is now the single most significant contributor to the country’s coffers.

Here’s to a new dawn of renewed hope, health and peace for all.
