Zale’s same-store sales up 4.4% in Q1 of fiscal 2014

Zale Corp.’s sale-store sales in the quarter ending October 31, 2013, rose 4.4 percent. The quarter represents its first fiscal quarter of 2014. Revenues were up 1.4 percent on y-o-y basis to $363 million, reports say. The company noted that it has seen optimistic same store sales in the 12 consecutive quarters and that its core national brands drove sales. The company expects to see growth in the remainder of 2014.
