WJA 2016 DIVA Design Competition open for entries

The Women's Jewelry Association (WJA) announced its 2016 DIVA Design Competition is now open to receive entries. The Competition is an annual contest founded in the late 1990s as a way to encourage women from all walks of life to express their creativity through precious metals and gemstones. It welcomes all women, whether employed in the jewelry industry or possessing any formal training.

There are two divisions to the competition – The first is the GemDIVA segment in which applicants enter finished jewelry. This is the fourth year WJA has partnered with the AGTA Spectrum Awards. Women who enter the Spectrum Awards are automatically eligible for an additional GemDIVA award in four of AGTA's categories, Bridal, Business/Daywear, Classical, and Evening Wear. The second category is the DazzleDIVA in which applicants enter 2-dimensional entries (renderings of designs that have not been realized or photographs of jewels that have already been made). Designs are judged solely on uniqueness, how well it fits the theme and, how well executed the idea. The theme for the second division is Transformation, to mirror WJA's Theme "Connect and Transform."

The winner in each category will receive $200 plus a trip to NYC to attend the WJA's annual in the Spotlight reception in March 2016.
