WFDB to launch individualistic email addresses for members

The WFDB is organising for all members of its 29 affiliated diamond exchanges to receive their own, exclusive email address - yourname@wfdb.com, an initiative which will emphasise the 12,000 diamantaires as holding bourse membership. The email addresses will be functional by 10, January 2011.

WFDB Secretary General and Executive Director Michael Vaughan explained that the WFDB encourages bourse members to enhance their prestige by presenting themselves as the members of a very exclusive 'family' - the WFDB. "By printing your email address, yourname@wfdb.com, on your business card, stationery, in your digital signatures and on your website, you will further enhance your recognizability. Combine that with the WFDB Mark, and your status as a diamantaire in good standing will be part of all communications with your clients, suppliers, service providers and others," he explained.

This initiative follows the WFDB cancelling email addresses that were still active on the worldfed.com domain, and the WFDB.com domain server being upgraded with a dedicated email server to carry and service thousands of email addresses. The WFDB email boxes will have a capacity of 100 MB, and is applicable to all members of WFDB affiliated bourses holding the WFDB Mark. Those bourse members who do not yet hold the WFDB Mark, can apply via their bourse's secretariat for a wfdb.com email box and receive the email address. The annual cost of a wfdb.com email box is $45 and is to be paid via the WFDB's Paypal account. Requests for the service can be made via email@wfdb.com.

Vaughan also informed that "While we will preserve the basic structure of the web site, we will upgrade the look and feel of the site and make it even more user friendly and attractive," Vaughan noted. "The new homepage will be updated more frequently as it will also carry carefully selected but important industry news, in addition to the WFDB-related news items."
